Hahn Transportation’s
BobWeller
has
traveledmore than fourmillionmiles
without anaccident. That’s theequivalent
of circling theearth 160 timesormaking
eight trips to themoonandback!
Weller was namedMaryland’s 2013
Driver of theYear by the 900-member
MarylandMotor TruckAssociation
(MMTA) andMarylandStatePolice at a
banquet held in January.
“Got here onemile and one load at a
time,”Weller said. “I didn’t get here by
myself. This is agreat honor and feeling.”
Alongwithhis impressive driving
record,Weller workswith theStatePolice
to train officers on cargo tank inspec-
tions; regularly speaks to themotoring
public about safe driving around trucks;
and is a four-timeMarylandDriver of the
Monthhonoree.
Every year, theMMTAhonors 12
professional driverswhose safe driving
records andprofessional conduct
earned them recognition asMaryland
Drivers of theMonth. Employers
statewide nominate their drivers for this
recognition, with theMarylandState
Police selecting theDriver of theYear.
The combined safe-driving records of
