GROWING the
CHAMBER
AND THEIR COMMUNITY
The Chester County Chamber of
Business & Industry’s membership
is constantly evolving, adding new
businesses to its ranks ever year. Here is
a closer look at three members that have
joined the Chamber recently.
Learn how these businesses — including
a global coffee chain, a veteran-owned
consulting firm and an innovative tech-
recycling company — are thriving in
Chester County and giving back to both
the Chamber and the community.
LAVAZZA NORTH
AMERICA: A Global Brand
with a Local Footprint
Lavazza North America has been
headquartered in West Chester since 2018.
Originally founded in Turin, Italy in 1895,
Lavazza is a globally recognizable brand of
coffee drinks.
“Our facility in West Chester has
over 200 employees,” said Rebecca
Lagravinese, Senior Manager of Learning
& Development at Lavazza North America.
“We also have a factory where we actually
produce, roast and grind the coffee.”
The Chester County plant was Lavazza’s
first packing and roasting location in North
America, and the company is still looking
to grow. “We are hiring a lot locally,” said
Lagravinese. “So we’re looking to get our
name out there. We want people to know
that when they go to their grocery store to
pick up Lavazza coffee, it was roasted and
packaged right down the street.”
Chester County is a good place for Lavazza
North America to be based, Lagravinese
34 Chester County Chamber of Business & Industry
said, due to “the wide variety of different
companies that are here. When possible,
we leverage local suppliers for goods
and services supporting businesses
throughout Southeast Pennsylvania. We
are active members of the Manufacturing
Alliance of Chester and Delaware Counties,
helping grow manufacturing in our area.”
In fact, Lavazza North America is looking
to expand its roasting capacity in West
Chester to support the growing demand
for Lavazza coffee.
As part of its investment in the
community, Lavazza North America has
entered into collaborations with local
nonprofits, such as the United Way of
Chester County. “We also do a food pickup
that we donate to local food banks,” she
said. “We partner with Fiorenza Food
for Friends, which has been coming to
Lavazza twice a week since February. In
2024 so far, Lavazza has donated over
2,000 pounds of food, which equals over
1,800 meals for the local community.”
GREENCASTLE
CONSULTING: Supporting
the Veteran Community
There are many consulting firms out there,
but Greencastle Consulting is one of a
kind: it’s 100% owned and operated by
veterans.
Founded in 1997, Greencastle has been
owned and run by CEO Joe Crandall since
2019. At the time of writing, Greencastle
had approximately 100 consultants on
staff. The company has made the Inc.
5000 list four years in a row and has
been named a best place to work by the
Philadelphia Business Journal.
“We’ve always hired military veterans to
do big projects for big companies” such
as Exelon, PECO, PPL and American Water,
Crandall said. “Veterans have a certain
propensity for getting stuff done and not
being bogged down by ambiguity.”
Greencastle supports clients with IT
projects, for example the implementation
of a new software platform, but it also
excels with execution of strategic plans.
“Some consulting groups will sit down
with the leaders of a large company and
present them with their five-year plan.
