EXCELLENCE IN CRAFTSMANSHIP – ELECTRICAL
PREFERRED ELECTRIC INC.
AIDHC – NICU 2A Expansion
One of the main features of this project was the installation of the specialty neonatal equipment, including critical power and emergency power for this equipment; supply power for the pneumatic tubing system; specialty lighting controls for each neonatal care room; and an arc-flash study for new distribution equipment. Also included were monitoring screens which monitor all the patients’ vital signs, communicating this to the physicians and nurses at the main desk. Work was located in a very active area of the hospital that included patients, hospital personnel and the public, requiring strategic coordination by all parties
to minimize foot traffic, limit noise, and maintain a “clean working environment.” Preferred Electric staff was required to enforce daily monitoring of site conditions and adjust their staff and resources to stay ahead of other crafts.

HIGHWAY REHABILITATION UNDER $5 MILLION

Airport Road Rehabilitation Project
This was a City of Milford project designed to rehab the deteriorating Airport Road. Work included widening the existing shoulder, hot-mix wedging of the existing roadway to meet finish grade elevations,
a half-inch mill of the existing road with
a two inch overlay, ditch regrading and sidewalk and curb replacement to meet
ADA requirements. This was a 180 calendar day project, however the City of Milford wanted it to be completed before Christmas 2017. Work began on July 17 and was substantially completed on November 27 with no punch list. Safety, efficiency, planning and execution were key to delivering a quality project ahead of schedule.
