Chesapeake Utilities New Office & Warehouse – Building Automation System
The design first began with the selection of application-specific HVAC equipment to meet the needs of the space. Since Chesapeake Utilities
is a natural gas utilities provider, they wanted the systems to operate on natural gas wherever possible. The Yanmar designed outdoor natural gas fired heat pump, which was installed, has
an operating cost 1/10 that of a standard electric system, yielding thousands of dollars in energy savings in an ecofriendly design. This system, coupled with Modern Controls’ latest web-based building automation system, is key to operating the building’s HVAC systems smoothly
and efficiently. We focus on giving building operators the ability to not only control their buildings efficiently, but also provide continuous comfort to the occupants.
