Communicator inDelaware
Press Association’s biggest award bestowed
on veteran editor

named the Delaware Press
Association’s Communicator of
Achievement for 2013.
This is the highest honor the
DPA bestows on its members. The annual award
is given for a lifetime of achievement in the com-
munications profession, recognizing exemplary
service to the community and to humanity.
“I’m humbled by this award, and a ribute the
success of Delaware Today and our ancillary
publications to a devoted and passionate team,”
said Hess. “I’ve been a member of the DPA
for a long time, and have always admired the
Communicators of Achievement. I’m not sure
I deserve this award, but I am very grateful just
the same.”
Hess is currently editor-in-chief of
Delaware Today Magazine. She received
her master’s and doctoral degrees from the
university and is an adjunct faculty
