The Maryland Transportation Plan (2050 MTP)
Is Almost Complete
The Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) is nearing completion of the development of the new 2050 Maryland Transportation Plan (MTP), called The Playbook.
The MTP is Maryland’s long-range transportation plan, which guides the state’s vision, corresponding policy, and investment priorities for the next 20 years. MDOT has engaged partners, stakeholders, and the public to establish The Playbook’s vision of providing safe, reliable, accessible, equitable, and sustainable transportation options across the state.
More than 75 strategies and
plan to help MDOT achieve its goals of enhancing safety and security, delivering system quality, promoting environmental stewardship, serving communities, and supporting the economy. Some of the combined strategies in The Playbook include:
• Create an infrastructure program
