In the borough of Queens, National Grid provides safe and reliable energy
to 387,390 customers, including 19,345 businesses and 368,045 residences. We’re proud of the contributions our employees make to support
the prosperity and wellbeing of
our customers.
National Grid has supported the Queens Chamber of Commerce for more than 50 years. The Chamber is an integral part of the community and an essential resource for businesses. We have served on various committees and maintained a seat on the chamber executive board for many years.
Queens has so much to offer and that’s why it’s a privilege to partner with the Chamber of Commerce. Throughout the years, we have supported various events and provided economic development grants that support business growth and create job opportunities, helping Queens thrive and succeed.
Queens is one of the most ethnically diverse urban areas in the United States. It’s a great place to own a business, start a business or reestablish a business and it’s also a
great place to live. In fact, many of our employees live and work in Queens.
Every day, our employees are focused on providing safe, reliable, affordable energy, while transitioning to a cleaner energy delivery system for the future. We’re committed to Net Zero and have our own plan to reduce emissions.
Helping the Community During COVID-19
Along with the National Grid Foundation, the company provided grants to support non-profit organizations, educational institutions
and food pantries throughout Queens to help those impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
• Our support of Jamaica and Elmhurst Hospitals helped in creating and funding programs to assist out-of-town first responders for basic essential needs while they were away from home caring for our Queens neighbors.
• A grant awarded to York College, One York Fund, targets students struggling to pay for tuition, childcare and everyday needs because of the unemployment caused by the pandemic.
