Adventure Park (dcladventures.com/ monkey-business-adventure-park) and Wisp Resort (wispresort.com/aerial- adventures), kids can experience the thrill of navigating obstacles in mid-air.
Monkey Business features two tiers, with the easier option recommended for age 7 and up. (The more challenging tier 2 is for 12 and older.) Younger kids (4 and up) can join in on the fun with the Mini-Monkey course, which includes lily hops, vine crossings, balance beams and more.
Wisp’s aerial adventures come in three flavors: Flying Squirrel Canopy Tour (big), Spider Monkey Adventure (medium) and Chipmunk Challenge Course (small). The Chipmunk Challenge is suitable for ages 4 and up. While you’re at Wisp, don’t miss some of the other outdoor fun, including disc golf, gem mining and the mountain coaster — a popular alpine slide/roller coaster hybrid that dips and rolls 3,500 feet downhill.
Rainy day? Great indoor alternatives to aerial adventures include the Deep Creek Axe Throwing Co. (dcladventures.com/deep- creek-axe-throwing-co), which lets kids age 8 and older take a turn with the targets.

Once the sun stages its comeback, can we interest you in getting out on the water? Deep Creek Lake is a great place to swim, or you could rent some paddleboards
or kayaks from High Mountain Sports (highmountainsports.com). Hourly rentals of kayaks, paddleboards, pontoons, tubes or wave runners are also available at FunTime Water Sports (funtimewatersports.com).
Arcades are another family vacation favorite, and the Deep Creek area certainly has you covered. Deep Creek Fun Zone (dcladventures.com/deep-creek-fun-zone) offers laser tag, bumper boats and go carts, Fun Unlimited (fununlimiteddcl.com) has
more than 100 new and vintage arcade games and at Funland Family Fun Center (deepcreekfunland.com), classic games sit alongside an old-fashioned carousel.
If you’re a family of avid bowlers, try The Alley (deepcreeklakebowling.com) which offers not just bowling, but also an arcade, pool table and shuffleboard. If all that activity has you hungry, The Alley’s menu includes casual favorites such as wings
and quesadillas — plus sweet treats like milkshakes, and beer and wine for the grown-ups. After the game, wind down your rainy day by taking in a movie at Garrett 8 Cinemas (garrett8cinema.com).
