Catholic Community Choir, founded in 2007, provides musical, artistic and spiritual development for children 18 months to 18 years of age through engaging community theater performances.
The Joybells, located in Melmark, is a handbell choir that has been performing since 1970 at churches, schools and colleges and at corporate and community events. The group has also played at three White House events and a gubernatorial inauguration and performed the national anthem at two Phillies game.
Rose Tree Park Concert Series features 45 concerts/performances from mid-June through mid- August with everything from rock ‘n roll to military marches and children’s entertainers to dance troupes.
Dining Under the Stars in Media is a classic summer event on Wednesdays from early May through late September. Media closes State Street from 5 to 11 p.m., allowing restaurants to set up tables outside for a great shopping and dining event. Restaurant reservations are recommended, as these evenings are tremendously popular.
Marcus Hook Pirate Festival, held every September, features a full pirate encampment with
period tents and demonstrations. Local vendors showcase their wares, and there are games, a wide selection of food, live pirate music, face painting, pony rides, a beer garden and more.
Chadds Ford Days is an annual September commemoration of the Revolutionary
War’s Battle of Brandywine. This popular event features 60 of the region’s finest craftsmen, Revolutionary War re-enactors, an array of culinary fare from local restaurants, breweries and wineries, antique cars, children’s activities, live music, special exhibits and historic tours of the John Chads House.
