STATE PARKS
Delaware is filled with picturesque state parks that are ideal for hiking, biking, fishing and observing wildlife.

John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge was established in 1972 with the mission of preserving, restoring and developing the natural area known as Tinicum Marsh. The site is a thriving sanctuary with a rich diversity of fish, nature and plants native to the Delaware Estuary.
Ridley Creek, a 2,606-acre park in Edgmont, Middletown and Upper Providence Townships, has a paved, five-mile, multiuse trail, a garden designed by the Olmsted Brothers and the Colonial Pennsylvania Plantation — a living-history museum that re-creates life on a working 1770s Pennsylvania farm (open April-November).
