MADI’S ON A ROLL:
Food for (and from) Friends
For most of us, eggrolls are a go-to appetizer
at Chinese restaurants, but Madi’s on a Roll
has turned them into the perfect meal for
parties, corporate events — or just because.
Founder Madi Coble grew up working in
her mother’s bakery in Allentown. One of
her favorite prepared foods at the bakery
were cheesesteak eggrolls, so when Coble
grew disenchanted with her corporate job
and decided to go into business for herself,
eggrolls were a natural fit.
“I kind of bootstrapped it,” she said. “I
bought a canopy tent and a tabletop fryer
and started reaching out to breweries,
wineries and festivals to see who would
take me.”
But when COVID closed down all those
traditional venues, Madi’s on a Roll pivoted
to selling its eggrolls frozen. “I threw together
a website and started dropping eggrolls off
at people’s houses and meeting people in
random parking lots,” Coble recalled.
Eventually, this emergency pivot turned
into selling pre-packaged eggrolls at
various area farmers’ markets, including
in Media and Phoenixville. However,
Coble and her husband, who joined the
business full-time in 2021, dreamed of
having a real, permanent space with a
commercial kitchen. They rented space
from a restaurant for a while, but eventually
outgrew it and signed a lease for their own
space in Exton in 2023.

“We wanted to have a storefront so people
had a consistent way to come buy our stuff,”
Coble said.
The storefront soon boomed, and Madi’s
on a Roll is getting ready to open a second
location in Phoenixville this summer. “I’m
so passionate about food because it’s a way
to bond with people,” Coble said. “It’s really
important to me that everyone who comes
through our door feels like a friend.”
Madi’s on a Roll offers party trays for
pickup. Walk-ins are welcome too.
Available flavors range from cheesesteak
and buffalo chicken to sweet variations
like peach pie and apple pie, or unique
options like pickle dip.

PIQUED PR: Piquing Interest
in Lifestyle Brands
Piqued PR is a boutique agency focused
on lifestyle clients — think fashion and
jewelry designers, home décor brands and
more. Founder Patricia Mae Olson got her
start as a PR coordinator with an agency in
Philadelphia, working mostly with liquor
brands. But when she went into business
for herself, she felt called to focus on the
industry that was closest to her heart. (As
evidenced by Olson’s degree in fashion
merchandising.)
Piqued PR’s name is a reference to the idea of
piquing someone’s interest. “My job is to pique
the interest of writers, editors, influencers
and bloggers so that they feature my clients,”
Olson explained. “We get clients featured
in national publications like Oprah and
Southern Living.” Olson has even had clients
show up on the list of Oprah’s Favorite Things.
Another component of Olson’s work is
convincing influencers and bloggers
to feature or wear her clients’ products.
Piqued PR will also organize events, such as
launches of new collections.
