ANEU KITCHENS: Trusting the
Place Where You Buy Your Food
Meridith Coyle has been cooking and
selling healthy food for 32 years — ever
since she started out with a stall at the
Wayne farmers’ market. Eventually, her
food grew so popular that she expanded
to other markets and was able to launch a
thriving catering business.
Today, Coyle’s business, ANEU Kitchens, is a
trusted brand for convenient, quick whole-
food meals in Chester County and beyond.
In addition to the company’s flagship store
in Paoli, which carries everything from
lunch bowls to juices, dips, pastry and
gluten-free pizza, ANEU also has two stores
in New Jersey.
In fact, at the time of writing, ANEU
was preparing to open a fourth and
fifth location: in Bryn Mawr and inside a
200-year-old house at Valley Forge National
Historical Park. The new locations will carry
alcohol, including wines produced by ANEU
in collaboration with Penns Woods Winery.
Another exciting development for ANEU:
“We’re working on a meal-based service
that we can ship all over the country
for people with any dietary needs and
restrictions,” Coyle said.
ANEU also continues to offer catering
services. “Corporate catering is our most
profitable business,” Coyle said. “For
years, I watched all these executives
feeling terrible all the time, so I started
introducing different choices to their
lunches and events.”
One of ANEU’s key products are whole-
food nutrition bites, which are now being
sold under a new company name: YEU.
They’re available in stores and online at
nutritionyeucrave.com.
As the business grows, Coyle is
determined to stay true to her mission:
“Creating whole foods, giving people more
time with their family and giving them the
opportunity to trust a place where they
buy their food.”

PENNS WOODS WINERY: For
the Love of Wine and Community
Penns Woods Winery was founded in 2001
by Italian immigrant and Marine Corps
veteran Gino Razzi.
“He started dabbling in winemaking by
researching Pennsylvania viticulture, which
was still very young back then,” said Carley
Razzi, Gino Razzi’s daughter, who joined
the business in 2009. “He visited a few local
wineries and tested their grapes. They were
good, so he started making wine with other
vineyards’ grapes in 2002. Then, in 2004,
we had the first vintage from our estate
property here” in Chadds Ford.
Since those early days, Penns Woods Winery
has grown significantly. It has 40 acres of
vineyards at three sites, some 20 employees
on its payroll and a tasting room that is
open seven days a week. However, despite
that growth, “we’re a very tightknit family
business,” Razzi said. “Everybody who’s on
the team plays a critical role.”
Penns Woods is also one of only two wineries
to be part of a U.S. national park. Miles of
hiking, biking and horseback-riding trails
belonging to First State National Historical
Park can be accessed from the winery.
But even if you’re not outdoorsy, there is
always a good reason to visit the winery,
which puts on community events year-
round, said Raechel Kuehn, Penns Woods
Wine Educator.
In the winter, the winery highlights
pairings with local products like cheeses,
honey and chocolate. “The grasses and
florals of these products are unique to
our region, so they pair naturally very well
with our wines,” Kuehn said.
Twice a year, Penns Woods puts on a horse
show, and in the summer, the community
is invited to come out for live music on
Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. There are
also yoga, art and mommy-and-me classes,
among many other offerings. “There’s
something here for everyone,” Kuehn
said. For those who don’t drink alcohol,
the winery offers seltzers and other non-
alcoholic options.
A particularly special time to visit is
in the fall, when the harvest season
begins and Penns Woods celebrates
Pennsylvania Wine Month with a range
of events, including popups and
wine dinners.
