Young professionals make connections through Emerging Leaders group

Emerging Leaders of Chester County is the Chester County Chamber of Business & Industry’s development program for young professionals. The program is designed to engage, educate and empower its members to help them become future leaders who will help Chester County grow and thrive in the years to come.
Members of Emerging Leaders have access to networking events, educational seminars and interactions with area business leaders.
“We all have different backgrounds and come from different industries, but have that same passion for professional growth,” said Diane Miller, senior leasing manager for rental-accommodations company AVE PA. “It’s a wonderful group, and the Chamber is very supportive of it.”
Miller is responsible for the growth of AVE’s unfurnished-apartment program. (AVE also provides furnished apartments for short-term rentals.) “It is my job to work with people to find the perfect apartment. That’s a process I absolutely love,” she said.
Miller enjoys Chester County’s vibrant culture and notes that the county’s strong economic growth has helped AVE grow alongside, providing housing to new professionals moving in.
Chester County also has been good to Darren Exley, a project manager at web design agency Durkan Group. “I’ve gotten to know a lot of local businesses, not just owners but employees. People become not just colleagues and customers, but friends,” he said.
