Classic Georgian Renovation
Dewson Construction, in collaboration with Peter Zimmerman Architects and Cullman & Kravis Interior Design, undertook a meticulous renovation of a 9,300-square-foot Georgian home built in 1927. The project excelled in craftsmanship, preserving the home’s historic character while integrating modern amenities. Key updates included a new entry foyer, reconfiguration of the Owners’ Suite, and seamless blending of original millwork with newly crafted elements. The renovation respected the home’s classic design while incorporating advanced systems like geothermal heating, concealed ductwork, and recessed lighting. Care was taken to preserve and rework salvaged materials, maintaining the building’s historic integrity. Excellent teamwork and communication between trades ensured that the project stayed within budget and schedule, despite its complexity. The result is a beautifully restored home that balances tradition with modern functionality.
