NCC White Clay Creek Surge Tank Bracing Support
The New Castle County sanitary sewer surge-tank project exemplifies creative construction practices and exceptional teamwork. JJID tackled the complex task of supporting an 82-foot-tall surge tank with limited space and active site constraints, employing innovative techniques like water- stabilized drilling to manage challenging
soil conditions. The project required precise installation of micro piles and a concrete support collar, adapted in multiple phases
to ensure stability. Collaboration with NCC, AECOM, JMT, and various consultants was crucial, with all parties maintaining open communication to address evolving challenges. JJID’s flexibility and resourcefulness in overcoming site difficulties led to the successful completion of this unique infrastructure project.
