University of Delaware Wolf Hall to Harter Hall Steam and Condensate Improvements
The project consisted of complete replacement of the steam and condensate system between Wolf and Harter Halls, with a strict time frame of just three months to complete. Eastern States did all excavating, trench support, backfill and restoration of the project’s exterior, working in conjunction with Apex Piping Systems, who completed the actual pipe installation. The piping system was extended through the walls of Wolf Hall, a building constructed in 1917, and extreme care had to be taken with the old stone and mortar foundation to create the openings for the pipe. Approximately 10,000 sf of brick paver walks had to be removed and replaced with the existing or new matching brick, and the old irrigation system had to be replaced and operating for the newly-sodded grass areas.
