RC FABRICATORS
In the specialty trade category of steel fabrication/erection,
RC Fabricators is awarded an Excellence for Wawa Corporate Headquarters. Wawa, our one-stop convenience shop, experienced exponential growth. Requiring corporate expansion, two structures, a combined 198,000-square-feet, 4,000 tons of steel, two cranes, two critical lifts and a pedestrian bridge, Wawa thrives as a staple within our daily lives.
NICKLE ELECTRICAL COMPANIES
In the $2-10 million electrical category, Nickle Electrical Companies is honored with an Excellence for the University
of Delaware’s Cannon Lab. The renovation project was a complete electrical and mechanical upgrade. A new 600-kilowatt emergency backup generator was installed, along with a brand- new roof, and the second-floor library was also updated.
CORRADO CONSTRUCTION
In the Site/Civil $2-5 million category, Corrado Construction is presented an Excellence. Corrado completed 87 acres of site improvements for the DE Turf Sports Complex, which consisted of 12 synthetic turf fields and an indoor field house. The site work included 10 acres of pavement and nearly three acres of sidewalk. Over 3.5 miles of underground utilities were installed.
RICHARD Y. JOHNSON
Richard Y. Johnson & Son is awarded an Excellence in the GC/CM $20-30 million for the Love Creek Elementary School. The new 720-student school, a prototype for a series of three new buildings to address growth in Cape Henlopen School District, was finished on time and under budget. The company worked closely with the district and design team to evaluate the constructability and budgeting constraints relative to future schools as well.
