MESSAGE FROM HEIDI DAVIDSON
RESILIENCE AND REFLECTION | ANNUAL DINNER 2020
HEIDI DAVIDSON
Chairman
Business Council of Westchester
I’d like to acknowledge Marsha Gordon for her dedication and vision as the leader of the Business Council of Westchester and to also recognize the entire BCW team and Board of Directors.
In addition to serving as a go‐to resource for businesses throughout Westchester, The BCW in early April under the leadership of Marsha Gordon and John Ravitz, launched the economic recovery task force, bringing together dozens of top business, government and not‐for‐profit leaders. We issued three separate reports to the governor and Westchester County Executive on the pandemic’s impact on business in Westchester and recommended steps they could take to support businesses. We are sincerely grateful to
the task force members for taking the time away from their businesses to make sure that our voices were heard.
At the same time, we stepped in to take on another important challenge in our community — racism. With the help of our BCW Board Anti‐Racism Task Force, we
created our Anti‐Racism Resource Center for Businesses, and with the help of BCW member Balancing Life’s Issues launched a series of eight educational seminars that were attended by thousands from across New York State.
Throughout this challenging year, John Ravitz made sure we stayed connected
to our public officials with a robust
series of highly interactive virtual
political leadership series. At the same time, we reimagined our most beloved in‐person events such as Hall of Fame and Rising Stars into virtual formats that each attracted hundreds of participants!
Despite the toll that the pandemic has taken on our great county, businesses clearly recognized the value of the BCW and membership grew! 110 new members joined the BCW during 2020, 80 of which joined after the pandemic hit.
Thank you all for your dedication and loyalty throughout this difficult year.
