WHERE MODERN MEN BEGIN
  Zach believes it was a
clear message to humble ourselves and always seek out the experience, strength and hope within each person, regardless of their circumstances. “My job
is definitely an extension
of this reminder,” he says. “My job feeds my faith life.
It reminds me all throughout the day that there is a unique and special encounter with the Body of Christ. Every day is new. Every student and person we serve has a story. Even the challenging days bring this office and community to a fuller understanding of how Christ is present to us.”
The CFJ has helped develop a unique, progressive journey for Salesianum students to develop into men
who set forth to serve others by seeking out society’s marginalized, and also helped lay the groundwork for larger domestic and international service trips. All the while, students are continually reminded to seek Christ’s presence in everyone they encounter along the way.
STOPS ON THE CFJ JOURNEY
Freshmen — EXPERIENCE. Freshmen are charged with experiencing social justice through relationship-based ministry. As Salesians, we are called to go deeper than volunteering time or making donations. The strongest service comes when we develop a relationship with, and empathy for, those whom we are serving, while creating solidarity with our community. In this spirit of relationship building, freshmen historically spend weeks mentoring and tutoring the students of Nativity Preparatory School.
