WHERE MODERN MEN BEGIN
  Campus Minister
Fr. Brian Zumbrum, OSFS, captures the essence of CFJ’s mission: “I love being able to help students become better versions of themselves. Whether that is leaving their comfort zones on a BRIDGE trip,
unburdening their baggage on a retreat or in pastoral counseling, choosing to deepen their faith by coming to a prayer service on a Monday morning in Advent
or a Friday afternoon, or finding friends and a community in our office... I get to witness healing
and transformation each day as students re-discover a relationship with God, as they forgive themselves for mistakes that have been made, as they claim their own identity, as they process grief from losses. And, I am privileged to do a job in which I get to put my own faith into action while working with these students to build the kingdom of God.”
The 2019/2020 CFJ calendar includes domestic
service trips to the following cities, each with its own special focus:
• Los Angeles, CA: Community and Urban Violence
• Camden, NJ: Poverty and Addiction
• White Sulphur Springs, WV: Disaster Relief
• Washington, DC: Urban Poverty and Social Issues Civil Rights Road Trip: Civil Rights History and Ongoing Social Justice Issues
• El Paso, TX: Immigration and Border Issues
• Albuquerque, NM: Pilgrimage and Immersion
• Baltimore, MD: Arrupe Leadership Summit
• Pine Ridge, SD: Native American Cultural Immersion
This year, Salesians will also immerse themselves in, and learn from, cultures around the globe. Thanks to the Oblates of St. Francis de Sales’ international presence, combined with their local connections, Salesianum students have incredible opportunities to learn in South America, South Africa and beyond:
