Outward Bound Shapes Young Adults hrough Urban Service Expeditions

Past service workshops have included green-space rehabilitation with veteran service organization The 6th  through Turnaround, Inc., which works with victims of sexual  stories at Marion House, a halfway house for women.
Outward Bound lead instructor Eric Park says: “Students gained a much more complex view of what resilience looks like as they heard stories from former homeless people and people who were overcoming addiction. They directly developed resilience as they explored the social justice lessons and were placed in an immersive group setting within an urban landscape.”

expeditions to provide service learning solutions to students and inspire a lifelong sense of leadership.
The expedition is unique to the Outward Bound School in Baltimore and leverages the school’s 31 years in Baltimore  develop the city’s next leaders. Students traverse the city by  empathy-building service projects; and learn communication, collaboration and action planning skills through Outward Bound’s research-backed Character Curriculum©.
