HOW WE MAKE AN IMPACT
For over 42 years, Student Advocacy has
been the only organization in Westchester
County whose work and mission are
exclusively devoted to providing legal
representation and counsel on special
education matters. We serve over 500
students annually in grades Pre-K to 12 who are at risk of academic failure
or dropping out of school due to disabilities and other complex challenges.
The students and families we serve are predominantly from low-income and immigrant backgrounds. We help them access the education services to which their children are legally entitled and that will enable them to make progress with their learning and succeed in school.
GIVING OPPORTUNITIES
You can support Student Advocacy and help us make a difference for youth in our community through individual donations, gifts of stock and securities, becoming a sponsor for our annual Overcoming the Odds Celebration (OTO), or by joining us as a corporate partner. Online gifts can be made at www.studentadvocacy.net/donate-today
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Volunteers are key to the success of OTO where we honor the achievements
of students who have faced challenges yet made education their priority and persevered. We receive nominations for the OTO Award from teachers, guidance counselors, and administrators throughout the County. We invite you to join the OTO Selection Committee to help choose the students who will be recognized at our May 2024 event. We also welcome attorneys as volunteers.
