14 | GIVING GUIDE 2023
HOW WE MAKE AN IMPACT
We train students in computers skills,
enabling them to learn at their own pace with
one-on-one personal trainers. They acquire
hands-on computer skills, including Microsoft certifications in Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, QuickBooks, keyboarding, and office machinery. We offer in-person classes Monday through Thursday from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm and via Zoom Monday through Saturday from 8 am to 8 pm. Our Senior Surfer Program in the Tarrytown Senior Center helps seniors with smartphone and computer skills. Students from 4th to 8th grade are able to work on keyboarding skills at the Scarsdale Public Library and Saints John and Paul School in Larchmont.
Employment is the end result. Our on-site Job Developer will implement soft skills and resume writing with the final outcome being viable employment for our students. We also offer a drop-in center, which allows those entering and re- entering the workforce the ability to take advantage of our free computers and services. Our on-site NYCPS, VSR, CRPA, Veteran and Forensic Peer Specialist, Cathy Frusciante, is happy to assist all who are in need of resources, guidance, and peer support.
GIVING OPPORTUNITIES
When our students complete their courses, they have the opportunity to intern at The Center, working with other students in the same capacity that they were taught.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Our internships will allow students the opportunity to volunteer and obtain soft skills along with their hard skills. We welcome agencies to place interns at The Center to learn and enjoy.
