Victorian Christmas at the Octagon House
Armour-Stiner Octagon House, Tarrytown
Selected dates and times, Nov & Dec
Have a one-of-a-kind holiday throwback at what may be the most distinctive house in the county. Built in 1872 as a summer retreat for a wealthy tea importer, the structure’s eight-sided splendor takes on an extra dimension of beauty with elaborate wreaths and garlands. For a showstopper, check out the Christmas tree in the salon, which, as kids these days say, is “extra” (translation: awesome!). The one-hour tour is a special chance to see this amazing private home. Tickets are $29; the event is best suited to those 12 and up. armourstiner.com
