HISTORYLESSON Baltimorejazzlegends Eubie Blake, Cab Calloway and Billie Holiday (as well as artists like Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald) performed at the now-demolished Royal Theater when the area was Baltimore’s epicenter of African American life in the early part of the 20th century.
