WHO WE ARE
PBF Energy Inc. (“PBF”) is one of the largest
independent petroleum refiners and suppliers of unbranded transportation fuels, heating oil, petrochemical feedstocks, lubricants and other petroleum products
in the United States. PBF currently owns and operates
six domestic oil refineries and related assets with a combined processing capacity, known as throughput,
of approximately 973,000 bpd, and a weighted average Nelson Complexity Index of 13.1, which is a measure of an oil refinery’s sophistication. PBF Energy’s refineries are located in California, Delaware, Louisiana, New Jersey and Ohio. The Delaware City Refining Company LLC (DCRC),
a subsidiary of PBF, operates the Delaware City Refinery, located on a 5,000-acre site on the Delaware River that has the ability to accept shipments of crude oil via rail or waterborne cargoes.
Delaware City Refinery has a throughput capacity of 180,000 bpd and a Nelson complexity rating of 13.6.
As a result of its configuration and petroleum refinery processing units, the refinery has the capability to process a diverse, heavy slate of crudes, including a high concentration of high sulfur crudes, making the Delaware City Refinery the largest and most complex refinery on the East Coast.
The site also features an extensive distribution network of pipelines, barges and tanks, as well as truck and rail facilities for shipping refined products to customers throughout the region.
STUFF WE MAKE
The Delaware City Refinery literally fuels Delaware’s economy and mobility by supplying about 70% of Delaware’s gasoline demand, while also supplying fuels and petrochemicals to the nation’s northeast. The facility separates, converts and blends crude oil into unbranded transportation fuel and other byproducts:
• Gasoline
• Ultra-low-sulfur diesel
• Jet fuel
• Heating oil
• Petrochemicals, petroleum coke,
and other petroleum products

WHAT ARE YOUR JOB DUTIES?
As a Business Team Leader, I manage two refinery units’ Operations teams, and facilitate the multidisciplinary Business Team’s focus to help achieve optimal operations. The Business Team’s functions involves daily troubleshooting and optimizations as well as long- term projects to improve the units’ capabilities. My role prioritizes all of these goals based on effective risk- assessment, opportunity evaluations, and business needs to guide the team towards the prioritized goals.
