took the lead in finding a crane that could be built on the fortified Pier 5 extension. Meanwhile, McLean Contracting Company finished the construction and dredging of the extended pier ahead of schedule and in time for Rukert Terminals to unload the M/V (motor vessel) Breezand, carrying bulk magnesite, on September 2, 1980.
In October 1980, Building #10, not even a year old, was extended to store an additional 16,500 tons of imported bulk ferro alloys in bins. Finally,
the fourth new warehouse on the east side property, Building #13, was put into service. This bulk warehouse was specially designed for the storage
of four grades of cattle feed. The entire compound, finished by Christmas 1980, was now one of the finest operational warehousing units in the port. The arduous task of expansion and relocation
was completed in just one year—thanks to the full cooperation, hard work and stamina of every employee at Rukert Terminals.
