Another longstanding Port of Baltimore presence is ro/ro customer CNH Industrial. The company was formed in 2013 as a result of a merger between Fiat Industrial and CNH Global N.V., but both of its agriculture brands — Case IH and New Holland Agriculture — were already going through the Port at the time.
CNH Industrial’s average annual volume through the Port is between 14,000 and 16,000 units, including both import and export volumes, according to Mike Malkinski, Supervisor of Port Operations for the NAFTA Region at CNH Industrial. The company’s agriculture product lines include tractors, combines and baling equipment. Construction equipment includes excavators, compactors, wheel loaders and backhoes.
CNH Industrial’s exports are manufactured in the U.S. and sent to markets in Europe and Australia. Imports arrive from production plans

“CNH Industrial has always maintained a strong working partnership with the Port of Baltimore,” Malkinski said. “Baltimore is a good, strategic location for CNH Industrial for several reasons. Mainly, it hosts a variety of steamship lines with lanes that meet our business model. Terminal, Rail Upgrades to Accommodate Higher Volumes
As volumes at the Port of Baltimore continue to grow, various infrastructure upgrades — in progress or already in place — will enable even more growth going forward.
