to do tomorrow?” His approach was clever in that he acknowledged the fact that an accomplishment had been achieved, while recognizing that much work was ahead.
The accomplishments that the NCFA has
achieved over the years are notable, worthy of
recognition, and we all should be immensely proud
of them. However, we also must recognize that
much work is ahead of us. This concept became clear during our strategic planning session this spring.
The Strategic Planning Committee met in Raleigh, led by an expert facilitation firm, in order to draft a strategic plan for our organization for the next three to five years. The committee used feedback from a survey previously completed by the Board of Directors to identify several broad goals for the association. An overview of the approved strategic plan is included in this edition of TreeLine. In sum, everyone acknowledged that many of the goals identified were either improvements to existing programs or reintroducing programs not touched on in several years. Additionally, several strategic planning ideas will involve exploring new territory. Both our members and the professional staff at NCFA are eager to work towards achieving the goals of our new strategic plan. I hope all of you reading this will help us in this endeavor.
In closing, let us not forget about all of the accomplishments our programs have achieved over the years, but let’s get to work together towards future accomplishments.
Make it a good one,
