Twenty minutes west of Dover, at the Maryland-Delaware state line, is the quaint little town of Marydel.
Harvest Ridge Winery, a family farm, is located right on another important landmark that runs through the area: the Mason-Dixon line. In fact, if you take a stroll before or after your tasting, you might stumble upon an original his- toric marker. Indulge in a tasting of Harvest Ridge’s diverse lineup of reds, whites, sweet wines and sangria, then stop by Rebel Seed Cidery, located on the same property, for a sip of ciders brewed from the fruit of local orchards.
Head back east another 14 miles to get to Felton, right on the outskirts of Dover. Here, you’ll find Pizzadili Vineyard and Winery. It owes its name to brothers Tony and Pete Pizzadili, whose family has been growing grapes and making wine on this prop- erty since 1993. Check their website for updated tasting room hours.
