   An essential stop to learn about life, enslavement and freedom during the 1700s is the John Dickinson Plantation in Dover, the boyhood home of one of America’s Founding Fathers. The museum, which offers free admission, tells the stories of the tenant farmers, indentured servants, and free and enslaved Black families who lived and died here.

The Johnson Victrola Museum offers a fascinating glimpse into the origin of recorded music. The museum’s exhibits showcase the life and legacy of Eldridge Reeves Johnson, co-founder of the Victor Talking Machine Company.
Woodburn, a historic mansion dating from the late 1700s, has served as home to Delaware’s governors since 1965. Next door to Woodburn is Hall House, the Governor’s guest house.
