Everyone’s dream wedding looks different, but we’re willing to bet your vision includes a gorgeous backdrop.
Garrett County provides ample options for that, whether you’re dreaming of saying your vows by the shore of a lake, on top of a mountain, or in a beautifully rustic barn. Your wedding pictures could feature a riotous leaf canopy, or a pristine blanket of snow.
What’s more, our venues and vendors are happy to work with you to accommodate your preferences. Want to enjoy the occasion without worrying about the details? Several local venues, such as Wisp Resort (wispresort.com), Savage River Lodge (savageriverlodge.com/ weddings-elopements) and the Red Barn Inn (redbarninn.com), offer comprehensive service packages. If you’re more of a hands-on couple, try a venue that provides the space and lets you shape it in the image
of your perfect day, such as Brodak’s Banquet Hall (facebook.com/ brodaksbanquethall), which sits next to a gorgeous private pond, or the brand-new Performing Arts Center at Garrett College (garrettcollege. edu/pac.php). Both will provide plenty of space and a more traditional atmosphere.
Garrett County’s rural setting makes it the perfect place for a barn wedding. In addition to the Red Barn Inn, rustic venues include The White Barn (lucasfarmwb.com), Sang Hill Farms (facebook.com/sanghillfarms) and West Fork Events (westforkevents.com).
Particularly large parties can be accommodated at the Ag Heritage
Hall (garrettcountyfair.org) and Wisp Resort’s McHenry Lodge, which features soaring ceilings and gorgeous views of the slopes through three- story windows.
Garrett County and Deep Creek Lake’s popularity as a wedding destination has soared as the trend of destination weddings has grown. Most of the wedding parties come from Baltimore, Washington, D.C., northern Virginia and the Pittsburgh area. Proximity to these metropolitan centers, a variety of overnight accommodations and four-season activities
