THE DESMOND
HOTEL MALVERN:
A Great Place to Meet
The Desmond Hotel Malvern, a DoubleTree
by Hilton, is an award-winning hotel,
wedding venue and conference center that
has a lot to offer both local businesses and
those traveling in Chester County.
“Our location is central,” said General
Manager Michael Chain. “We’re right in the
middle of Route 29, between Route 30 and
the PA Turnpike. We offer a wide array of
both indoor and outdoor spaces perfectly
suited for meetings, events and dining
experiences.”
The Desmond has three restaurants: Fork
& Bottle, which focuses on sustainable,
farm-sourced dining; the Fox & Hounds
Pub, modeled after a real English pub
of the late 1800s; and the Sunset Grille,
whose outdoor space allows guests to dine
surrounded by lavish greenery.
“Our strongest amenity is our a la carte
dining program,” Chain said. “Our versatile
spaces cater to both corporate groups and
individual guests, whether it’s a business
gathering or a romantic dinner for two.”
For companies searching for a meeting
venue, the Desmond offers over 15,000
square feet of dedicated meeting space.
Meeting rooms can accommodate up to
120 guests, while the hotel’s ballroom is
able to hold up to 250 guests.
But the hotel’s “sweet spot,” Chain said,
are meetings up to about 30 people. “We
have at least 10 different rooms that can
accommodate those numbers.”
WHITE MANOR
COUNTRY CLUB:
Tailored Events in Historic
Surroundings
White Manor Country Club is located on a
magnificent, rolling stretch of countryside
along Providence Road in Malvern. The
history of its 170 acres goes back all the
way to 1711 and William Penn, who granted
the land to the Evans family. That family
operated a dairy farm at the site until, in
1962, White Manor Country Club bought
the land and made its home there. (The old
dairy farm is today commemorated in the
club’s distinctive milk can logo.)
Since that time, the country club and
its golf course have undergone a lot of
changes.
“The course was redesigned in 2003 by
Bobby Weed, who is a pretty well-known
course architect in the area,” said JP
Dawson, White Manor’s General Manager.
The hotel also makes meeting planning
easy: the logistics are handled by an
in-house team. “We’re a one-stop shop,”
Chain said. “The food we’re able to serve for
small, medium and large events is second
to none.”
For audiovisual needs, the Desmond has
recently upgraded its technology via a new,
Hilton-approved Wi-Fi system.
Holding meetings at the Desmond also
comes with perks, which increase along
with the amount spent. “For example, we
may hold a champagne and cheese tasting
that would be free to our top spenders,”
Chain said.
The hotel also hosts beer and wine tastings,
cigar dinners, live music, murder mystery
dinners and more. So for local businesses
looking to reward employees with a fun
outing, Chain noted, the Desmond is the
perfect place.
