CHAMBER WORKS TO
PROMOTE BUSINESS INTERESTS
The mission of the Chester County Chamber of Business & Industry (CCCBI) is to be a member-driven advocate for pro-business and pro-growth policy. The current legislative priorities of the Chamber are competitiveness, investment, and workforce.
Our efforts to stimulate economic growth post-pandemic center around the ability to attract and retain residents in order to build the labor force and innovative industries. CCCBI continues to support legislation with the intent to improve the tax structure and reform current regulation to be more streamlined and transparent for businesses. In addition, CCCBI has focused advocacy efforts on workforce development issues, such as housing, responsible development, and public transportation, to attract and retain Chester County’s vibrant economy and spur economic growth.
As we work to retain our residents, we must also attract new residents and visitors with the rich historical significance in Chester County and the ever-evolving business community. One unexplored avenue to economic growth is an investment in tourism centered on both local historic sites and upcoming regional events.
Other areas of advocacy support include encouraging public- private partnerships to address critical policy issues such as a
multi-prong approach to a decarbonized energy economy, further investment in research and development, and modern, safe, and reliable infrastructure.
A well-educated and skilled workforce is the key to the success
of any economy. CCCBI advocates for Chester County and the Commonwealth to prioritize workforce development, talent- pipeline management, and retention efforts to create programs that lead to incentivizing and retaining graduates and skilled employees.
CCCBI is also dedicated to initiating bipartisan coordination between government officials, both in Harrisburg and here in Chester County. Each year, CCCBI holds several legislative events, inviting elected officials from both sides of the aisle to come together and provide updates on their common goals: Chester County and Pennsylvania’s prosperity. To keep the membership informed, a Legislative Update is carefully crafted each week in CCCBI’s Newsletter. This attempt to stay on top of current events and potential outcomes is focused on Chester County businesses across industries.
