“Our model is supported by volunteers,” said Maureen Tomoschuk, CVIM’s President and CEO. “That includes licensed, credentialed professional volunteers, but also community volunteers who donate their time to help patients access our services.”
For example, volunteers are needed to drive patients to scheduled appointments. CVIM provides services at its home
in West Chester as well as a growing number of additional sites — such as dental clinics at St. Rocco Catholic Church in Avondale and at Surrey Services for Seniors in Devon — but many clients lack access to reliable transportation and need help getting there.
In addition, CVIM needs interpreters, especially those with Spanish language skills, said Laura Patarcity, a Marketing and Communications Specialist at CVIM. “Obviously, most of our volunteers need to have some sort of medical or dental training, but there are ways for people
