without clinical experience to help,” she said.
For those who aren’t able to give
their time and expertise, donations
are another great way to help. CVIM’s website (www.cvim.org) makes it very easy to donate, Tomoschuk noted.
The need for CVIM’s services grows every year. In fiscal 2022, the nonprofit
received 5,521 calls for service, up 41% from the previous year. And with the recent closure of Brandywine Hospital and Jennersville Hospital, CVIM’s mission has become more crucial than ever.
To keep serving the community
better, CVIM is expanding its service locations and hours — patients can now access services on some evenings
and Saturdays — and the nonprofit is working to launch a new medical site in Coatesville. In collaboration with its partner Salus University, CVIM also now offers vision care services.
“Everything we do is 100% supported by philanthropy,” Tomoschuk said. “It’s the generosity of this community that allows us to fund our programs.”
