Q. Do you see opportunities for the CCIU in the present situation with COVID-19?
A. While not an opportunity, we do see value in our role as an intermediary to coordinate the efforts of the schools on a countywide basis to ensure the safety, health and overall well-being of our students. We have held two countywide COVID-19 school safety summits this spring, attended by more than 600 public, nonpublic and charter school personnel. We expect our role in this capacity to continue during the 2020-2021 school year. As one of the state’s largest providers of school- district online education programming, we also plan to assist our school districts in implementing their own online learning programs, providing staff development to their instructional staff and providing direct online learning instruction.
