The Year of Talent
Citing talent attraction as the #1 challenge facing today’s business community, the BCW declared 2023 as “–e
Year of Talent,” laser-focusing a spotlight on how the
BCW is tackling the crisis with a three-prong marketplace strategy of examination, education, and engagement.
With public engagement already underway since last September, employing the iconic Headless Horseman as “Westchester’s Ultimate Headhunter” in an on-going series of advertisements and companion website www.WestchesterWantsYou.com, employer education emerged as the next logical step.
–at’s why the BCW launched a five-part informational series called Talent Tuesdays: e New Rules of Attraction – Finding, Cultivating and Keeping Talent. –e series will feature virtual panel discussions with industry experts on important topics and trends designed to assist employers in finding, cultivating, and retaining talent. –e kickoff program in the series will be held March 21, followed by programs on April 18, May 2 and May 30. Sponsors of the series include: –alle Industries, Balancing Life’s Issues, Simone Development Companies, Jackson Lewis and Westchester County.
“–rough these expert panel discussions, we are delivering to area employers an updated toolkit of strategies and techniques for enticing more skilled individuals to view Westchester County as a location-of choice for finding long-term, meaningful employment,” said Gordon.
“Our goal with WIN is to build strong and economically vibrant communities by attracting thought leaders and futurists to our County. At the same time, we showcased Westchester as
a place to build, grow, test, and explore innovation.”
—BCW President and CEO Marsha Gordon

2022 was another busy year for the BCW, which held more than 110 in-person and virtual events, an average of two events per week! One of the highlights of the year was a record turnout for the Annual Fall Dinner which featured Robert Halmi, CEO of Great Point Studios, the developer of the new Lionsgate television and movie production studio in Yonkers.
