Continuing its leadership role as Westchester’s most influential and dynamic business membership organization, e Business Council of Westchester (BCW) is at the forefront with exciting new programs focused on innovation and the challenges of attracting and retaining talent in the workplace.
New Economic Development Initiative Helps Local Companies ‘WIN’
e BCW prioritized new ideas and technologies in 2022 with the activation of
the Westchester Innovation Network (WIN), new initiative focused on driving economic development, innovation, and growth within Westchester County. roughout 2022, WIN attracted 14 innovators based in the United States and Canada who were matched with
local companies to test new products, services, and technologies.
“Our goal with WIN is to build strong
and economically vibrant communities by attracting thought leaders and futurists to
our County. At the same time, we showcased Westchester as a place to build, grow, test, and explore innovation,” said Dr. Marsha Gordon, President and CEO of the BCW.
e year’s WIN activities culminated in the WIN Showcase event at which innovators - local, national and international – gathered for a unique and highly informational program. Four of the WIN innovators were awarded $25,000 in cash grants. e winners were: CatchU, which is testing a fall-propensity app with staff at the Burke Rehabilitation Hospital, ConConnect, for its re-entry work with the formerly incarcerated and the Yonkers Housing
