OUR MISSION
Our Mission: To build
community, address
poverty, and restore hope
by meeting basic needs
with respect and dignity.
For over 50 years, Saint
Patrick’s Center has been
a consistent provider of
support for seniors, and
resources for families in
Wilmington’s East Side.
Year established: 1971
Number of full-time employees: 11
Number of part-time employees: 2

Geographic service area: Wilmington
HOW WE MAKE AN IMPACT
Last year we distributed 510,316 meals.
We have an impact on the lives of over
300 people every day. St Pat’s directly
addresses basic human needs for food,
clothing, and provides services for seniors
and the homeless. Distributing free groceries
alleviates hunger and enables families to
spend limited resources on other needs. One
in six children in Delaware are food insecure.
Increased availability of resources alleviates
household stress that affects childhood development.
We directly address poverty and inequality by distributing resources and
connecting individuals to additional resources. We aim to reduce poverty
by better enabling individuals to overcome barriers to stability.
GIVING OPPORTUNITIES
The USDA estimates that it costs $980.90 to feed a family of four on a thrifty
food plan. St Pat’s can provide the same amount of food at a cost of $254.04.
We are always in need of gently used clothes, shelf-stable foods, and planned
legacy giving.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
We are seeking volunteers for food distribution, clothes sorting,
assisting with senior activities, and offi ce administrative tasks.

St. Patrick’s Center loves
people! It’s more than just
the food and services they
