ship with Columbia University in one of
the projects of the Urban Design Labs
for Sustainable Development. When
the project gets under way, as part of a regional model of sustainable urban futures around the globe, Columbia will examine New Rochelle through an urban lens and explore the amount and type of growth that ideally should occur in each area of the City. I believe we’re at the right place at the right time with all the elements needed for urban growth—we’re poised to grow in the most wonderful way.
On the urban design front, we are also striving for design excellence. For instance, right now we’re running a global design competition for a winning solution to the Armory property and we won’t accept anything but the best.”
