The overall design of this classic Georgian home in Scarsdale introduces an eclectic mix of modern and midcentury influences to its traditional architecture. The owner’s passion for painting drove the design to allow the display of his large, modern canvases, featuring swaths of color. The dining room, painted gray to make those colors pop, features blue-velvet Klismos chairs with a marble table imported from Portugal. Other rooms, including a study with deep-blue walls and a library, were carefully curated to create a cohe- sive and inviting home.
