HOW WE MAKE AN IMPACT
PWJC is a self-funded leading civil legal
services provider focusing on domestic
violence, sexual assault, and elder abuse, and
is located on the Pace campus. Annually,
PWJC provides free legal services to 3,500
victims of violence including orders of
protection, child custody and support orders,
and divorces. PWJC participates in 140
outreach events each year to educate the community and train professionals. Our free and immediate legal services combined with our coordinated community response enhances long-term outcomes for our clients and creates increased opportunities for a path to safety.
GIVING OPPORTUNITIES
Donations to PWJC support free and immediate civil legal services, shown
by research to be critical in helping victims directly start their journey to
safety. Giving opportunities include general support, directed (restricted) support, event sponsorships, planned gifts, matching gifts, and grants through foundations and donor-advised funds.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
PWJC’s volunteers work with staff to provide legal services to victims of abuse. Our robust volunteer program offers a variety of opportunities for attorneys, paralegals, students, and others to work with clients and support our mission. Staff train volunteers on the dynamics of interpersonal abuse and the legal issues facing our clients.
