the ceiling above the fireplace in the family room, for example. When you dim the lights, a 120-inch screen comes down for movie night.
Vinny Bellissimo, owner Westchester Automated Gate
Why is an automated gate worth the investment?
Usually, there are three reasons people get auto- mated gates: 1) the property needs deer fencing, 2) security and peace of mind, or 3) you have the type of house that deserves a gate that makes a statement.
How can customers best take advantage of the winter months?
The winter months are best for researching the style and type of gate you prefer and compli- ments your home. Our showroom can help in- spire you with examples of working gates, iron work, and custom woodwork.
Mark Maznio, president Yorktown Woodworking Inc.
What type of services do you provide?
We are a design-and-build firm offering a full range of services for kitchens, libraries, wine rooms, en- tertainment centers, home offices, and more.
Has the change in the function of kitchens affected the design?
Kitchens have become multi-function rooms. We have to plan a space for children to do home- work, an area for the TV and computer, an island or peninsula for everyone to hang out, and space for the new additional appliances.

What are the benefits to customizing your home after the holidays?
Winter is great for interior work, like redoing clos- ets or customizing a home office. While housing prices have dropped, creating functional built-ins adds value and lifts the spirit.
If you’re customizing a closet now, how do you accommodate future changes? Our designs incorporate room to grow to give flexibility for changes as your wardrobe changes. Since we have a warranty, we will provide addi- tional rods or fixtures if your needs change later.

Do you see interesting trends
occurring in Westchester?
Many homeowners are converting an extra bed- room into a combined home office/guest room. We also see flat-screen TVs replacing older-style models.
