TRANSFORMING THE CITY ON
THE SOUND
Emblematic of the county’s focus on transit-oriented development, RXR Realty and city officials announced a proposed project to build dual 28-story towers in downtown New Rochelle. The mixed-use develop- ment would be built on the site of the current Church- Division Parking Garage, south of Main Street. The estimated $300 million project would include 650 to 700 residential units between the two towers and up to 40,000 square feet of retail space.
Already underway is a $149 million, 28-story mixed use RXR development being constructed at the former Loews Theatre site. The projects are part of a 10-year city master plan to build new restaurants, hotels, stores and 5,500 downtown residential units.
