   FRESH Air
Ask any hiker, the scenic beauty of the Hudson Valley is unparalleled, whether mountaintop or rail trail. Thousands of miles of trails interconnect throughout the region, and the 2,000-mile Appalachian Trail was actually started here. Four seasons of recreation have visitors schussing down ski slopes, cruising the Hudson River, rafting the rapids, paddle boarding the lakes, fishing the streams, putting the greens, rock climbing at Mohonk, and zip lining at Hunter Mountain
on the longest stretch in North America!
      CULTURE Vultures
... will love the vibrant arts scene here. From the early 1800s, when the Hudson River School became the first art movement in the United States, to the current wildly creative atmosphere humming with artists’ studios, galleries, theaters, and perform- ing arts spaces, the valley is a mecca for culture. Art giants like Dia:Beacon, housed in a converted box factory, and Storm King Art Center surrounded by thousands of acres of pristine landscape, are international destinations that rival New York City institutions. The Albany Institute of History and Art is one of the oldest museums in the country, while Art Omi presents over 60 works by contemporary artists and architects throughout their expansive grounds of grassy fields and rolling hills.
