IT’SACRAFTTHING...
In Adams County, we like things homegrown and locally crafted. That extends to our beverages. In recent years, the greater Gettysburg area has become home to several wineries, cider makers and distillers of small-batch spirits. Take time during your trip to explore our artisans and taste a few of their unforgettable beverages.
Just a few to consider...
Lavender Lemonade — Mason Dixon Distillery: subtle and refreshing . . . you almost forget that it’s made with their small-batch vodka. Even the lavender syrup is made on-site at the distillery. This is hand-crafted at its finest.
Rye Smile — Battlefield Brew Works: find your way out Hunterstown Road to the historic barn serving up craft brews and spirits. Ask for their barrel-aged whiskey over the rocks or as a whiskey sour to discover the
signature smoky aroma and rich, long finish brought together from whole grains
and oak flavor. You’re thirsty, aren’t
you?
Jack’s Hard Cider — Hauser Estate Winery: The original, Helen’s, Dry Hopped or a seasonal specialty, regardless, they are hand-crafted and pressed on-site. Each is made with apples grown by the team at Hauser Estate Winery. Know where your cider comes from . . . and be sure it’s Adams County.
Blueberry Wine — Reid’s Orchard and Winery: made exclusively from fresh whole-fruit blueberries, this is surprisingly semi-sweet with a light tart taste. Not
surprising . . . it is delicious!
Black Magic — Adams County Winery: Made with 100% local blackberries, this
flavorful wine can replace your favorite dessert . . . or complement it.
