Just a few minutes north of Manhattan, Westchester County offers a unique mix of natural beauty, history, culture and sophisticated amenities that all add up to an exceptional quality of life.
WHO WE ARE
A richly diverse community, Westchester residents enjoy high median-income levels and lower unemployment rates compared with national averages. Biotechnology is one of Westchester County’s strongest growth sectors, with over 8,000 employees.
REGENERON IN WESTCHESTER
Regeneron employs a large portion of that workforce — more than 2,500 employees — from its Westchester corporate headquarters and state-of the-art laboratory facilities.
Regeneron has experienced tremendous growth and continues to expand as they work to deliver life-saving medicines to patients in need. The company currently occupies more than 1.5 million square feet of space in Westchester County.
NEW YORK’S INTELLECTUAL CAPITAL
With 47.3% of our residents over age 25 holding a bachelor’s degree or higher, Westchester is one of the most highly educated counties in the nation.
Westchester’s 43 school districts boast low teacher-to-student ratios, high-quality supplemental and after-school programming,

and a wide range of services for students with special needs. We offer top-ranked schools, and our high school graduation
rates far exceed national averages.
In terms of higher education, the county is home to 15 colleges
and universities — both public and private — that offer a variety of two- and four-year programs.
TOP-NOTCH HEALTHCARE
Less than an hour away from most parts of the county, New York City offers some of the best hospital systems and healthcare
in the country. Now, thanks to the expanding reach of world- renowned healthcare organizations, such as Montefiore, NewYork-Presbyterian, Memorial Sloan Kettering and ColumbiaDoctors, residents of Westchester enjoy world-class healthcare even closer to home.
PROXIMITY AND ACCESSIBILITY
Residents can easily move throughout the county and beyond via multiple, interconnected roadways, 43 train stations, three rail lines and a leading regional airport. A train ride to Manhattan from most parts of Westchester lasts roughly
30 minutes on average.
In fall 2018, the second span of the Governor Mario M. Cuomo
Bridge (connecting Westchester to Rockland) opened to traffic. When the project is complete, both spans will have four general traffic lanes, two emergency shoulders on each side of the respective span, and a bus lane.
