Tell us about NYBCe’s relocation
to Westchester.
NYBCe is developing the Rye campus in the former Avon facility, a sprawling 187,000 square-foot, 14.8-acre site. By the end of 2024, the Rye Campus, which stood empty for years, will transform into a state-of-the-art, multipurpose campus dedicated to life sciences research, blood collections, processing, distribution, specialty laboratories, and cell therapy manufacturing. The Rye facility was built
in 1959, a four-acre building, in a predominantly residential community, with superb interstate and train access. The Rye facility will be the first-ever single campus for NYBCe. As part of this expansion, we plan to hire 300+ new employees. The expansion to Rye will also provide more efficient service to hospitals throughout Westchester County, the Hudson Valley, and tri-state area.
Why did you choose Rye for the campus?
We will benefit from our location in Rye, one of Westchester County's most prestigious communities, providing access to a highly skilled workforce and diverse lifestyle amenities. Located at the confluence of I-95 and I-287 and situated next to the Rye Train Station, the property provides connectivity to Grand Central Terminal in under 50 minutes and a “live/work/play/stay” environment within walking distance.
The Westchester County Executive and his team, as well as the Business Council of Westchester, have welcomed NYBCe to the County, and we are thrilled to be part of this wonderful business community.
