Dear Friends,
I’m so proud of the progress the New Bronx Chamber of Commerce has accomplished since its inception in 2001. In that short
period of time the Chamber has distinguished itself by embracing a keen business acumen that will serve as the pillar of strength for Bronx business community for years to come, adding to the exciting renaissance-like resurgence the borough is presently witnessing.
The Chamber wisely appointed Lisa Sorin as the new President and CEO. She is an individual who brings to the position a wealth of institutional knowledge and a background of ingenuity and practice. Her ability to grow the membership and make the Bronx Chamber of Commerce attractive to businesses around the borough, including both its major employers and its ‘mom and pop’ stores, by providing a supportive apparatus for their continued growth, are the skills she immediately imparts to the organization.
It is very important to recognize the Bronx Chamber of Commerce for its focus on giving back: the Bronx Hire program
provides employment opportunities; the Chamber’s complimentary networking events encourage businesses, new and old, to exchange ideas within a relaxing social environment; the annual Bronx Chamber of Commerce’s Women of Distinction Awards distributes scholarship checks to deserving college-bound female students; the annual Bronx Chamber Gala presents a significant donation to a worthwhile not-for-profit; and the Holiday Party collects toys for needy children.
The Bronx Chamber of Commerce’s Board of Directors has done a superb job. For putting in the enormous amount of hours to
insure the Chamber meets the needs of the borough, I believe you should be commended. I wish you much success in 2019 and I look forward to working with you!
